Chamber Images: FBA Spring 2010 Fashion Show at NYU

Frank and I recently attended NYU's Fashion Bussiness Association 2010 fashion show headed by FBA president Erica Eng and hosted by Donna Kim (follow her on twitter!).

The FBA event showcased the work of young designers from Parsons, FIT, and NYU. We shot some footage and put together this short movie.

Photos: New York Red Bulls vs. Chicago Fire

If you've read my last blog post, you may have noticed I've been taking pictures at Red Bull Arena. Since this is a photography and media blog, you're also probably wondering when I'm planning to show what photos I've taken. Well wait no longer...

... and this was just the first game of the season.

The Future of Photography

Since the release of Nikon's D90 and Canon's 5D MKII, many of the new digital SLR's coming out also shoot HD footage at 1080p, photography and video are closer together than they've ever been, and they're only going to be more integrated in the future.

Take a look at these two videos showcasing what the future of print might look like on the iPad.

And here's some behind the scenes footage of Alexx Henry's studio which produced these two amazing examples. I like how he says, "in the end we're not making moving pictures--that's what movies do. We're creating pictures that move."

MLS Match Day 360: Red Bull Arena

The grand opening of Red Bull Arena was a success. I got some great shots of the game which I'll post shortly. At no point did I think I would end up on the other end of someones lens though. I'm in the following video around the 1:10 mark. The cameraman who happened to catch me in the act was Jason Saghini, the Senior Video Producer of MLS Digital. The video is worth the watch, excellent coverage of the game that reads like a narrative. Kudos to you Jason.

Path to Red Bull Arena Video

This is a little piece of cinematic genius that I'd like to share. It involves a Red Bull New York player Jeremy Hall and your average soccer fan. Jeremy is working his tail off to be in the squad. The average fan takes a different "path" to get to Red Bull Arena. It's a double entendre in getting the word out that you can take the PATH train to get there, and that everyone has a different path to Red Bull Arena. It's very well produced and accomplishes its goal of increasing excitement for the Grand Opening of Red Bull Arena. Watch the video below. -F

Jump Shots of Jeremy Hassell

Jeremy Hassell from GAKCity (follow them on twitter!), dropped by the studio to get some headshots, and of course, I asked him to do a few jumps for me.  Even though he only had three hours of sleep editing video the night before, he still managed to do a few pirouettes.

Headshots: Ivy Hong

Ivy Hong is an incredibly funny actor who I had a blast working with!  (Follow her on twitter!)  I was completely fascinated by how effortlessly she could make the craziest expressions.  So much so that I decided to post a whole bunch of them on the blog.

Unit Stills: The Four-Faced Liar

The Four-Faced Liar is an independent film directed by Jacob Chase and written by Marja Lewis Ryan that I shot some production stills for.  My friend Ashlea Hartz was the line producer and she wanted me to document some of the behind the scenes action. -C

The synopsis from Slamdance:

"When best friends, Bridget and Trip, meet small town couple, Molly and Greg, at their local West Village hangout, unexpected sparks fly. Molly risks losing her childhood sweetheart as she finds herself falling hard for Bridget. “The Four-Faced Liar” is a charming coming of age love story about four friends and the chances they take for love."
