OH MY JOSH Music Video Release at Splash Bar

I'm still reeling from last night. I went to two birthday parties at bars, one of which was for our good friend Donna Kim of POSHGLAM who just turned 23 (woohoo!), before I finally made it to Splash Bar for the release of Oh My Josh debut music video "Out My Face (wah wah wah)" (Produced by Joshuah Michael & Chamber Images; Directed by Andrew Makadsi). There was lots of great music, drinks, a live performance by Oh My Josh and of course, the music video premiere to the public. We were wowed by Josh's performance, he has great stage presence and really knew how to work the crowd. It was night filled with fire, confetti and lots of buff male dancers. Sorry, there aren't any stills to go with this story but we were guests of honor that night and left our cameras at home. I know you're anxious to witness what I'm talking about, but it's an experience well worth having in person. You may even get felt up by an inebriated club-goer or two before the nights over! No, but seriously, check it out sometime.

Well, here it is, what you have all been waiting for. The first of many music videos for Oh My Josh and Chamber Images!

Atomic Tom in the Subway

Since recently completing our first music video, I've been looking at ways people having been getting viral buzz from their music videos. A cool music video you may or may not have seen was taken in the NYC subway on what seems to be an iPhone. The band Atomic Tom, had their equipment recently stolen. But because of their desire to jam and their ability to improvise, they actually made something worth watching. Production values aside, their concept for the video was actually the coolest part. I'm familiar with some of the apps they used to perform the piece so it's nice to see that they can be used for actual improvisational performances.

YRB Kids Party Expo Birthday Show

Before you can begin to understand these photos, you need the following history lesson.

Once upon a time, there was a place called Yellow Rat Bastard. In this place lived many YRB Kids who slaved away selling knock offs and working for minimum wage. They were kind of like those guys from that movie "Kids", but with employers. Anyhow, beneath those YRB Kids lived the Rats. Black out Buddies, Fake Gringas and other basement dwellers alike. They would suffer heat stroke in the summer, they would huddle around a hand warmer or a lit candle in the winter. They'd run from giant monster roaches and kick unruly boxes who just kept getting in the way. The subway would shake their makeshift stations and rats would leave them gifts to clean up. When they were spoken to, it was either with disdain from the Children of Abraham (the Overseers) or pure hatred from unhappy customers. But despite all the hardships, there was one thing that kept them smiling and from burning the place down... loud music and each other.

It is there I met the birthday boy Derek, as well as my friends Luisa, Alveen, and of course, Chris. So I will now tarnish any presumptions that you may have thought the foundation of my career is based on. I may be a fashion photographer now, but I owned a guitar long before my first camera. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Culo Blanco!
